Sweet red velvet

It had been one of the most bizzare night Natara had seen in a long time. When the boy, Tic, had been taken from the hall Natara had started moving slowly towards the door, to go find him. They spent so much time throwing insults at each other she wondered if it was just going to be all talk or if there was actually going to be a fight. Any which way no one was paying attention to anything but Larkin and the pink haired girl which gave more than enough time for Natara to sneak out behind Tic and the lady who was dragging him away. The pink haired girl leaped at Larkin, and it grasped Natara's attention for only a moment. Natara could hear Larkin say 'So be it' and the sound of a gun shot just before Natara left.

The halls weren't as well lit as the room everyone was gathered in. She liked it better. Following the sound of footsteps she was surprised that she never bumped into anyone. It seemed that the halls were deserted. Everyone must be where Larkin is. There to serve and help their master..

'What would the outcome of this be?' Natara though. 'Will Larkin die and the pink haired girl live? Will the girl die and Larkin live and succeed in everything he wanted to do? If the girl died, what will the others that were with her do? Try and find Tic anyway. Either which way, there's there's gonna be a lot of blood to clean up after.'

Natara had watched this pink haired girl since she came in. The vivid hair color was hard for her eyes to miss. She was actually quite surprised that no one else seemed to notice. However, it had been later on during the ball when Natara had finally arrived. Maybe she was part of an act. The thought soon faded from her mind.

When the girl jumped and swung down on the curtains and landed on the table. Not only did she insult Larkin but she had startled everyone in the hall and decapitated someone.

There was also this boy that had been taken. Tic was it? He looked so fragile and young. Natara had seen him once before. Yes, during the rebellion which involved sink. Larkin had used this boy to get information.

A feeling passed through Natara's body. One she had long forgotten. A feeling of pity for this boy. He didn't deserve to be in the middle of this. He didn't deserve to be used by Larkin, or even taken by the strange girl with pink hair that could bleed more blood than a heavy rain could pour.

Natara stood in her corner and laughed softly to herself. It seemed quite comical in a way. Amusing to watch but could be kind of dangerous to get involved in. It made her smile.

The castle looked so familiar. Natara had never been inside Larkin’s castle but all of them looked the same. From the outside anyway. Big and looming over everything. As far as Nara was concerned it was uninviting.

So far she had been trying to avoid going inside. Every time she got close her father’s face seemed to flash across her mind. But then again, her father was far away. There was nothing to worry about, right? And it had been so long sing Natara had been in a crowd where she could talk to people. After all, if she was just going to stand and stare at the lights and shadows inside why did she swipe an invitation from that other girl? And why would she have bothered to get this dress.

Natara walked up to the gates when something caught her eye. Turning she saw a man staring up at the castle. Strange, it was, his blue hair was vivid in the moonlight and his long black coat and his eyes were covered by thick goggles. Something about the way he was turning his head to look at the castle then started to walk to wards the guard said he wasn’t invited.

Natara approached him, not knowing what made her do it. His appearance and metallic arm interested her. She flashed a smile she said “You need to get in?” He nodded.

She flicked her head towards the guard who was staring at her with a stupid look on his face and walked over to him. She smiled and handed over her invitation. The guard checked it over and stepped aside to let her in.

“Um...excuse me,” She said sweetly. It made her feel sick to actually act nice to a guard. The guard turned to look at her, “Well, you see...um... I was wondering if you would possible escort me into the castle. I mean, you’ve been here almost all night, right? And don’t you think you should take a break? Maybe show me around a bit?”

The guard hesitated before saying “Well, I guess I could but just for a little while. My break is soon anyway.” He took Natara’s arm and began to lead her towards the castle. She turned to see if the strange guy had been able to sneak in. Natara saw a flash of blue sneak past the gate and she let go of the guards arm.

He looked at her in question. “Those people over there,” she nodded towards the gate, “I think they’re trying to sneak in.” The guard turned to look for the people she was talking about but no one was there. He went to look. Natara took that moment to simply walk off.

She was almost at the castle when the blue haired man stepped in front of her. “Hey there, thanks. Those guards have it in for me and-“

“You’re welcome.” She interrupted. “Just don’t get thrown out again.” And she walked away inside the castle.
