Irony

Stelon smiled a bit wider as Larkin wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close and looking into her eyes. She gazed back into the Shrike's orange eyes and was relieved to see he had either forgotten or dropped his earlier question of whether or not she had been lying. Truth was that she didn't know herself if what she had told him would be considered a lie or not. Afterall, it was the truth...just not all of it.

She was rather happy to be back at his side, and took quick notice of the boy that still rested at Larkin's left. She shifted her smile from Larkin to Tic, still hoping to make him more at ease. He looked very insecure in the Shrike's embrace and she remembered the fearful look that had earlier occupied his face; his beautiful violet eyes had clearly been radiating the discomfort and despair he had been feeling.

She wondered again what it could possibly have been that caused him such anxiety and finally shook off her thoughts with another smile. She stopped her self from jumping as Larkin steered her in front of Tic, she had nearly forgotten he was there, despite her joy at being near him.

"Stelon, this is Tic Synkrat Ideo. Tic, this is Stelon."

Stelon did the best she could to attempt a curtsy without falling flat on her face and barely managed not to stumble.

"Pleased to meet you, Tic..."

She found it somewhat ironic that Larkin should be the one to introduce her to Tic, when he was the one she was helping to rescue Tic from. Yet as she thought this, a second voice sounded in her head.

"But are you really still in on this, Stelon? You're not so sure anymore, are you, of Larkin's supposed evil. What has he done that's so bad to you? Maybe you would even do better to stay with him rather than the others..."

And as the governor continued to smile, so did she, pushing the troubled thoughts from her mind.
