Stelon relaxed very slightly as Larkin massaged the muscles in her to watch Tic, her eyes going back and forth between Tic and Larkin, trying to figure out what was going through their minds. She coulback, but not nearly enough to tell him the whole truth. She shrieked suddenly as a boy appearing around her age nearly plowed into the Shrike, and felt relief flood over her. She would not have to answer him for the time being. It took her a few moments before she realized exactly who it was who had skidded to a halt near them.
She followed Larkin's gaze to Tic and was surprised to see fear mingled throughout his features, fear and panic like that she had felt a few moments ago. She stepped back a few steps from him, and continued not to understand what was happening. The fear on Tic's face, the dominant look on Larkin's face, saying quite clearly as Tic stepped away, "You dare defy me?"...it was all so puzzling to her.
She continued to watch as Larkin reached out for Tic's hand and looked somewhat alarmed as Tic pulled back from him yet again. Her emotions were all a huge mess right now, shifting rapidly from fear, to confusion, curiousity and back again. She still wanted to talk with the Shrike, his character was still intriguing to her. But part of her told her to get away from there, he had her figured out. He knew she wasn't what she appeared to be. She slowly continued to take a few steps back from the Shrike, fighting against the parts of her that told her to stay with him as the woman called Aurora spoke with Larkin, hoping no one would notice as she did so.
