Surprised and nervous

Things were not looking good for Matthias. Larkin was quite obviously not one to cross, and Matthias had done more than cross him. With each and every blow Larkin delivered forcefully to him, Stelon cringed. She felt she should do something...something to help Matthias. But at the same time, she knew it would only make matters much worse. And he had gotten into it himself afterall, so he deserved what he got.

Stelon repeated things along those lines in her head over and over to justify not trying to help Matthias, and sighed in relief as another noble kept the Shrike from continuing. She looked slightly reassured when Larkin smiled, and was very relieved Matthias was only thrown out and not put back in the dungeons. That would definitely have complicated things. Stelon glanced around and failed to spot Miraye or Farrago, and finally turned her gaze back to Larkin. Women of all varieties were gathered around him like a pack of wolves, each of them looking to help him with the blood running from his nose. When he waved them off they all looked somewhat exasperated. The women returned to their partners, who looked quite irritable at being left so carelessly for Larkin. It was obvious everyone of them would die to simply talk with him, let alone dance with him.

Then she felt it again. Someone was watching her, and she blushed slightly as she looked up and found herself having eye contact once again with the Shrike. She didn't turn away this time though...she didn't think she could even if she wanted to. Those eyes were so beautiful....unusual, and intriguing. He grinned and she felt her face flush a darker shade of red, and her eyes widened as he motioned for her to approach him.

Stelon stayed where she was a few moments longer, knowing it would definitely be bad to defy him. Finally gathering her wits, she walked slowly over to him, her face still scarlet as the other women glared jealously at her. It seemed hours to get there, when in reality it was only seconds.

She finally reached him and looked at him nervously, pondering why he had wanted her to come nearer.
