Miraye stood silently in the corner. So many odd things that happened in one night. Matty getting drunk and looking at her rather pervertedly, and of course, making himself look like such the jackass in front of everyone. Imera on some stranger's lap. Stelon dancing with the enemy. Tic lost in the crowd, probably his ass being grabbed every now and then. She sighed to herself and looked up at the particular window she was eyeing for a while now. Miraye looked around the crowd, Stelon and Larkin dancing in the middle of attention. She lowered her mask slightly and looked around again. No Tic in sight. She was about to take a step foward when she recalled Matthias was outside. So much for the head's up.
Time to prepare.
Miraye walked through the colors and reached the window. She made sure no one was noticing; everone was watching the pretty boy and Stelon. She rolled up the long sleeves to the dress and tugged at the gold and white banner hanging from the window. She stuck a foot on the stones on the walls and pulled, climbing rapidly. Miraye was enveloped in darkness, but she could still see everyone dancing. She took a final leap and landed on the window ledge, its stained glass shimmering in the moon light. Phase one was completed, she crouched low to make sure her shadow didn't attract a soul.
Now all Miraye needed was for Larkin to make his speech. And then, the rescue mission would begin.
